About Dr. Ali

Dr. Neha Ali is a Complex Family Planning fellow at the University of Colorado. Originally from Carrollton, TX, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Ali entered the world of women's health as a student at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, where she discovered her passion in the first year and deepened her commitment by joining the Medical Students for Choice chapter. During her fourth year, she participated in an externship at Planned Parenthood, further fueling her interest in reproductive justice and family planning. Following her time in medical school, Dr. Ali completed her residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. It was during her training that she witnessed the evolving landscape of family planning in Texas, marked by increasingly restrictive measures, particularly affecting underserved communities. Dr. Ali's response was conducting research aimed at improving access to contraception postpartum and understanding the moral toll these restrictions take on medical trainees. Dr. Ali's clinical and research interests involve broadening access to abortions and contraception, as well as developing strategies to mitigate moral injury among medical trainees.
